The inspiration for the Orbital Collection evolved from both the geocentric view of the ancients and the heliocentric perspective of Copernicus.
Our work celebrates the divine order and connection between all things. Inspired by Late Bronze Age models where uniform rings represent our solar system. We provoke asymmetry with its accompanying gravitational challenges and then painstakingly redistribute the weight, realigning the hoops so they hang gracefully while moving freely. These forms combine the imagery of the circle and the spiral creating a meandering but purposeful path reminiscent of the ancient symbol for wholeness. The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again, out into the world.
